Description

Indomethacin is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic effects. It exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase and reducing prostaglandin synthesis, while its antipyretic effect is related to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the hypothalamus.

Application

Indomethacin is anti-inflammatory and has a significant antipyretic effect. It is mainly used for rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, etc. that are not easily tolerated or have no significant therapeutic effects on salicylic acid drugs.
