Application
Calcium stearate is used as a stabilizer and lubricant for polyvinyl chloride, and can be used as a non-toxic soft film container for food packaging, medical devices, and other purposes. Used as a halogen absorbent in polyethylene and polypropylene. It can also be used as a release agent for thermosetting plastics such as phenolic and amino acids, as well as a lubricant for polyester reinforced plastics, a thickener for lubricating grease, a waterproof agent for textiles, and a leveling agent for paints. Food grade calcium stearate is used as an anti caking agent to prevent the aggregation and agglomeration of powdered or crystalline foods, in order to maintain their free flow.
